Dear Members,
As I take the position of president of the Advertising Production Club (APC), I can’t help but reflect back on the respected legacy this position holds. Therefore, I would like to publicly thank Vivian Cunningham for her tireless work as APC President and I look forward to her continued contributions as Chairperson.
Throughout my almost 20 year career in advertising, I have looked upon the APC as the premier conduit for continued education, scholarship and camaraderie within our industry. I am greatly honored and humbled that you have entrusted me with a leadership role in this fine organization. Please know that I do not take this responsibility lightly and will further commit myself to the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead.
While I’m honored to hold this position, this club truly is the sum of its parts, in that success comes from the combined efforts of its entire board and of course, the membership at large. To this point, I offer my congratulations to the new Executive Board and the new Board of Directors at Large, which have recently taken office. Each Board member has been entrusted with a valued position in the APC, which brings with it a high level of responsibility. It requires dedication, commitment and an enthusiastic participation in the development of innovative ideas that will help drive us forward. As members, you have our combined commitment to bring forth a robust and exciting agenda for the 2008-2009 season.
All of the members are encouraged to participate in as many of the scheduled educational and networking events as possible, as the rewards you will gain will be with you throughout your career. For those inclined to do more, committee membership is a great way to get involved. We have opportunities in Education, Networking, Membership, Newsletter, and more. Please contact our office or any Board member for more details.
As my first official duty as APC President, I am extremely proud to announce this year’s recipients of the Advertising Production Person of the Year Awards (APPY); Kevin Brucato and Tom Lopresti. They will be honored at our annual Gala on Thursday, September 25, 2008. Our new venue will be the Battery Gardens Restaurant, located at the tip of Manhattan with sweeping views of the harbor. Hold the date and join us for what will be a spectacular evening.
Additionally, I plan to update this message on a regular basis and would like to hear from you with comments and/or suggestions on how the APC can offer more value and opportunities to our members.
Together we will craft the successful future of this organization.
